Making a few assumptions here: if you’re reading this blog, you’ve probably been to a wedding or two. Who knows, maybe you’re at an age where all of your friends are getting married, so you’re a seasoned veteran when it comes to motions of the big day of I do. There’s nothing wrong with tradition. That’s why marriage is such a large institution in the first place; it’s been around for ages, and it’s almost a right of passage. It’s a time honored ceremony that hasn’t lost steam and doesn’t need to. However, there is a trend going around right now that is worth looking into; keep the ceremony the same, but shake up the reception and cuisine a little bit. If you do that, then you really are literally bringing something old and something new to your big day.
Many couples are changing up catering by going with leaner and lighter fare. We did a post just recently about offering alternative food options at ceremonies catered by us here at Renaissance Catering. However, you don’t necessarily have to completely change the menu. Couples interested need only ask and we can find that little bit of zest, zing, and pop to take a dish that is normally not something to get all excited about and turn it into something that is delicious and new. Feel free to ask us. Do you want something a little bit more modern than just filet mignon, maybe we could cook you up some zesty fish that tastes fresh and refreshing. Not looking forward to the march of the heavy carb plates such as mashed potatoes or mac and cheese? We could whip up some season vegetables, or even steam them. Basically, get creative! Or let us get creative for you! We’re caterers, we do food. You just go out and handle one of the biggest days of your lives, and when you show up for your reception, we can have dishes waiting for you that no one was expecting. Old and new together. Seems like a great fit.
And just to give you a little insight into what we can do, here is our paella bowl. It’s fresh seafood, rice, and everything nice! That’d be something out of left field we could give ya!
